“Make Learning Irresistible” was just one of the goals for this new “21st Century”, seven building, 113,000 SF campus. The school district wanted to develop a new model that would enhance the learning environment and provide parents new choices and input in this community-style approach. To take advantage of the efficiencies of a larger school, this campus will accommodate 950 students. The buildings surround a community plaza. There are 4 communities of 225 – 250 students and each is comprised of 8 studios, a project lab, and a resource room. This allows community configurations of Pre-K – 8 or any other student age mix. Break out spaces between studios allow for project-based and inquiry-based instruction. The courtyards are an extension of the learning environment. Each is prepared with a shaded teaching ramada and is connected to the water harvesting system.
