This exciting project provided much needed classroom space to 4 campuses. A programming effort identified important issues and needs with community input and existing space calculations were performed to ensure compliance with the School Facilities Board Guidelines.
Tanque Verde High School – A new 2-story commons building created a new front door to the campus. Students have access to a career center, study space, library and 4 classrooms. Two science classrooms were also added to enhance an already robust science curriculum. Central courtyard spaces were enhanced to create school assembly space and outdoor learning opportunities.
Emily Gray Junior High School – This fine arts addition included a new band, choir/orchestra and theater arts classroom with supporting practice rooms and faculty offices. An outdoor courtyard space provides opportunities for outdoor learning.
Tanque Verde and Agua Caliente Elementary Schools – Kindergarten classroom additions consisting of four and three rooms respectively were added to support the District’s early childhood programs.
These projects were funded by both SFB and District Bond Funds. Site assessments were performed for each campus to determine the best locations based on site circulation and utility infrastructure.
