About Us

Redefining Contemporary Architecture, One Client at a Time

Swaim Associates Architects is built upon collaborative innovation. We do not subscribe to a signature style that resonates throughout each project. Instead, our contemporary architecture firm identifies the client’s distinct needs, and we create inspiring architectural designs to meet their vision.

Founded With a Vision for a Relationship-Based Approach to Architectural Design

Swaim Associates is capable of tackling large scale projects, but we do so with the personalized approach of a small firm. You’ll communicate directly with a lead principal throughout the design and planning process—your project won’t simply be passed off to an intern or novice designer. Our work also doesn’t stop once the planning phase is complete. We provide ongoing support throughout construction to ensure that your design vision comes to life.

Additionally, no project is too small for our team to consider. We have completed projects ranging from small tenant improvements  to schools, healthcare complexes, hotels, and hospitals.

Supporting Each Project With Collaboration and Community In mind

Architecture is an industry with inherent challenges and stressful situations. Swaim Associates overcomes these challenges by maintaining a supportive, collaborative environment within our contemporary architecture firm. Additionally, we understand that our work has a strong impact on the community, so we keep community needs top of mind throughout the planning and design process. We also strive to give back to the community we serve through charitable donations, volunteer work, and involvement in local revitalization efforts.

Our firm is driven by a diverse team of problem solvers

Swaim Associates Architects has grown steadily through the years, and our team has only become more capable of tackling new challenges and creating innovative, contemporary architecture appropriate to the traditions, culture, and ecology of the Southwest. Phil Swaim, Ed Marley, and Mark Bollard became Principals in 1992. Kevin Barber became a Principal in 2007.
