Destined to be an architect from an early age, Phil Swaim began his career with Swaim Associates in 1972 when he was still in high school and working for his dad, Robert Swaim. After attending college at the University of Oregon and spending some time working for several firms in Denver, Phil made his way back to Tucson in 1985 and officially started at Swaim Associates as an architect. He became president of the company in 1992.
Phil is a dedicated problem solver, always willing to tackle design, construction, scheduling, and budgetary issues and resolve conflicts that may arise during various project phases. He passionately leads his team seeking innovative solutions at every turn. He also maintains strong relationships with designers, contractors, the community, and members of local and state government, so he can make things happen quickly and efficiently.
Phil believes in working hard and playing hard. When he’s not at work, he enjoys hiking, biking, and skiing, spending time at his remote cabin in Wyoming, and having a glass of wine with his wife.
