The JMU Student Health and Success Center at James Madison University brought together various student services for the campus into an existing hospital that was renovated and expanded to create the new student-centric facility. Designed in association with Moseley Architects.

The Health Center occupies 44,000 SF and provides several health services, including General Medicine, Women’s Health, Pharmacy, Urgent Care, Lab, X-ray, Health Education, and Substance Abuse Prevention. Despite the constraints of the older, existing building, the extensive renovation successfully transformed the space into a new, state of the art campus health center.

Housed in a newer area of the existing hospital, the Counseling Service offers group and individual counseling sessions, Stress Management, Women’s Health, Sexual Assault Counseling, and Psychiatry. The renovation provided the service with the opportunity to achieve the desired privacy level that had been lacking in their previous facility.
